“Stillness”

Karesansui (Stillness), 2025

Mixed media collage on wood, handprinted papers, denim, saree pieces, jute threads

30 x 30 cm

Inspired by Japanese dry gardens, this piece is a meditation on placement and rhythm. Fragments are arranged like stones in raked gravel—deliberate, spare, yet endlessly interpretable. A study in stillness, guided by absence as much as mark.

“Stillness” is part of the Series: “Echoes of Impermanence”, 2025

A mixed media collage series that explores traditional Japanese philosophical symbols through a tactile dialogue between material memory and aesthetic restraint. Each piece centers around hand-carved lino stamps representing essential concepts from Japanese Zen thought—such as nothingness, stillness, and non-attachment—imbuing the work with meditative focus.
